Sometimes there are these bands that just play their music in the wrong period of time. You hear these rock bands that should have been playing alongside Thin Lizzy, for example, or there are the nu-metal bands that play their music nowadays, but who should have opened for bands like Korn. Audiotopsy is one of those bands, which was resurrected from the remains of ’90 nu metal band Mudvayne. A professional Audiotopsy on the matter came to one conclusion: ‘Natural Causes’.

Coal Chamber takes Melkweg back to ’90s

Coal Chamber’s latest album ‘Rivals’ might not have been the greatest piece of music ever made, it was never a terrible album. It was solid, it was powerful, but it was still stuck in the nineties. When I got the offer to come and see these American Nu-metallers in the Melkweg venue in Amsterdam, I just couldn’t say no. So there we were, bloody Monday the first of June, to see Coal Chamber, SOiL, Diablo BLVD and the relatively unknown Blood Runs Deep. It was one hell of a night.

Review: Coal Chamber – Rivals

After breaking up on-stage in 2003 during a long lasting argument before and during the show, Coal Chamber has reunited to entertain the world again. The band lead by Dez Fafara, also known for the work with his other band, Devil Driver, has resurrected Coal Chamber with ‘Rivals’. Let’s see if the 90’s nu-metal is still good enough to compete with their rivals in 2015.
