Let me quote you the Swedish band that I’m about to review. Tad Morose claims the following: “Probably the best band in the world!” Now I know my sarcasm, and I know very well when someone is making a joke, but I just can’t leave this quote to be, without responding to it. Because Tad Morose could quite possibly also be the worst band in the world. But to judge a band you don’t know is very unprofessional, so let’s find out if ‘St. Demonius’ proves this band to be the best.
Most of us will know the heavy and Powermetal that originated from Germany. With bands like Helloween, Primal Fear and many others the soaring vocals and fast, technical music has become well known all around the world. But sometimes there are new bands that tap into this particular barrel of inspiration to create new music. The Swedish Lancer is one of those bands. By using the old-school Powermetal, but giving it a modern touch on ‘Second Storm’.
It’s sometimes hard to find the real gems in the sea of female-fronted metal bands. Sometimes there are bands that stand up and start making high quality music. One of those bands is the Belgian ‘Ethernity’ that releases an exceptionally good album with ‘Obscure Illusions’.
